Unofficially titled Final Fantasy X: Fantasy War, this role-playing video game for the Game Boy Color is a riff on the Final Fantasy role-playing game series. Although its developer and year of release (by default 2000) are unclear, it was published in Taiwan by SKOB and in mainland China, by Guangzhou Li Cheng Industry & Trade Co. Both of these companies are located in China.
A warrior armed with a sword, a chocobo, a magician, and an archer are the four playable characters available in this fighting game, which is played from the side. Attacks are performed by pressing the B button, with the first two characters having attack combinations and the latter two characters having short-range missiles. You may leap by using the A button. Alternately, the player can run by pressing Left or Right twice in rapid succession.
You can conduct your character’s two special attacks by hitting the B and A buttons, but doing so will cost you part of your life. The other one requires pressing B after performing the move Hadoken (Down, Down-Forward, Forward), and it uses up some of the red “magic” gauge in the process.
The player “levels up” after taking enough damage, however, there are no gear or weapons to collect in this game. This not only provides the player with a boost to their strength, but it also restores both their health and their magic gauge.
