SM64 The Mushroom Cup

SM64: The Mushroom Cup is a major ROM hack made by usernamesarentimportant , also known as UsernamesAreSpiders. This hack contains 130 stars and over 15 custom levels.
Mario’s goal is to solve the mystery behind the strange Solitude Fortress and escape quickly before the mushroom invades him over.

The gameplay is slightly different than the author’s previous works, with more focus on platforming and semi-openworld style on exploration. This time, the overall story is being interrupted by incohesive lines dubbed as “REDACTED” over the dialog, as if the writer or reader is affected by the mushroom effect, much like the fortress’s surroundings and inhabitants.

The game’s title references the first cup in all Mario Kart games but impossibly does show relevance anywhere.
