In the not too distant future, a monopolistic and technological company known as Ultratech is responsible for organizing a combat competition known as “Killer Instinct.” The invitation to take part in the competition is accepted by a large number of combatants, including some of Ultratech’s experimental warriors. Ultratech employs a technology that is capable of creating bridges between other dimensions in order to make the competition more difficult. This results in the appearance of a monster known as Eyedol. Eyedol is an old two-headed warrior who was imprisoned with his hated enemy, Gargos. Together, they shared a cell. A few of the warriors compete in the tournament in the hopes of gaining honor or eluding capture. Other combatants are striving to put an end to the depravity that Ultratech has brought about.
Killer Instinct is a combat game that takes place in two dimensions but uses sprites that have been recreated in three dimensions. Orchid, Cinder, Jago, Glacius, Fulgore, Riptor, Sabrewulf, Spinal, T.J. Combo, and Thunder are the 10 playable characters that the players can pick from. The game is well-known for its heavy combo-based combat system, which enables players to execute attacks that land a large amount of hits on their opponent, with the “Ultra Combo” serving as the highest possible level. The game also has double energy bars, combo breakers, finishing moves, and stage deaths. Additionally, the game’s soundtrack is influenced by dance music and has a techno flavor.
