Seiken Densetsu 3 is situated in the same setting as the two previous Seiken Densetsu games (the first is Final Fantasy Adventure, and the second is most known as Secret of Mana). The enigmatic force known as Mana serves as the driving force behind everything that happens in Seiken Densetsu 3. After a number of years have passed, all of the destructive capabilities of mana have been safely sealed by mana swords into a total of eight seeds, which have been distributed among eight distinct kingdoms. But there are those who are aware of those powers that have been locked away, and they don’t want to release them for the benefit of humanity, but rather for their own personal gain. One example of this would be the kingdom of Altena, which is beginning to freeze over and can only be saved by the legendary powers.
There are several story arcs to choose from, all of which are linked to one another through the setting of the game. At the beginning of the game, you will be presented with the option to select a party of three out of a total of six unique characters from a variety of classes. These characters include Duran the Fighter, Angela the Magic User, Lisa the Amazon, Carlie the Cleric, Kevin the Grappler, and Hawk the Thief. Every one of them lives in a different country and has their own history to tell about how they got there. The links between these many individuals grow clearer over time, and the seemingly unrelated plot threads are eventually woven together into a single cohesive narrative.
Like its predecessor in the series, Seiken Densetsu 3 is an action role-playing game (RPG) that features real-time battles.
