Altaar’s Chronicles is a prequel to the 2007 video game Assassin’s Creed. It makes use of the Nintendo DS’s features. The primary gameplay mode of the game was a 3D platform-puzzle game style with third-person hack-and-slash fighting and relatively restricted stealth movement. The touchscreen is used for mini-games such as questioning and pickpocketing and to display a map during regular gameplay. The fighting system in the game consists primarily of weak strikes, powerful attacks, blocks, and combinations of the three with the sword, with explosives and missiles being accessible later in the game. The secret retractable blade, a sword, a crossbow, explosive bombs, smoke bombs, and throwing knives are among the seven weapons available. The game also has three degrees of difficulty, allowing more experienced players to tackle a more arduous task. It includes Tyre and Aleppo, Jerusalem, Acre, and Damascus. Unlike the first Assassin’s Creed, the game is told from the perspective of Altar Ibn La-Ahad rather than Desmond Miles, although the menu screens take place in the Animus.
