A very long time in the future, a massive asteroid broke out of its orbit and crashed into Earth. This dreadful event left nothing but devastation in its wake, permanently altering both the surface of Earth and the population of the planet. Insects, the most adaptable form of life on Earth, have evolved to the point that they have transformed into enormous giants and assumed control of the globe.
