Dr. Ryuta Kawashima’s study, a notable Japanese neuroscientist, inspired Brain Age. His research examined the effects of practicing specific reading and arithmetic activities to stimulate the brain. Brain Age provides brief mental exercises to keep your DS brain in shape. Activities include answering easy math problems quickly, counting individuals entering and exiting a house simultaneously, sketching artwork on the Touch Screen, reading classic literature aloud, and more. You may also play sudoku, a number puzzle game that has become a prominent staple in American newspapers. We all know that as we age, our bodies change, and it becomes more vital to exercise daily to preserve our health and fitness. Our brain is no exception. “Use it or lose it,” as they say. According to new research, brain activities can increase mental sharpness like muscles. This is when Brain Age comes into play. Dr. Elizabeth Zelinski, dean and executive director of the Leonard Davis School of Gerontology at the University of Southern California, believes games like Brain Age might help keep older generations of Americans’ minds engaged. “Americans can do a great deal to maintain and even improve their mental abilities,” Zelinski said. “Aging is about confronting new mental challenges.” Nintendo’s Brain Age is an excellent approach to do this.” How does Brain Age function? Brain Age activities are intended to stimulate the brain. Simple math and logic tasks are solved rapidly, and reading aloud is an effective technique for reaching this aim. The unique Nintendo DS Touch Screen allows users to type their replies on paper or with a Personal Digital Assistant, or “PDA,” utilizing a Stylus pen. In addition, the Nintendo DS’s voice input recognizes specific phrases you’ll say throughout the Stroop Test. Brain Age uses simple line charts to measure your development with each activity. Using Brain Age daily will unlock new workouts to test your abilities. A fun calculating competition involving friends and family is included in Brain Age. There is just one Brain Age Game Card required. This minigame may be downloaded to as many as 15 DS devices using the DS’s user-friendly interface! Baby Boomers and test-prep students want to push themselves and discover new ways to stay sharp. Brain Age functions as a mental treadmill. With the Nintendo DS’s simplicity and Brain Age’s challenging and gratifying workouts, anybody can activate their DS brain, boosting gaming speed and accuracy.
