Drawn to Life

In 2007, THQ and 5th Cell released Drawn to Life, an action-adventure platform video game for the Nintendo DS. Drawn to Life: God’s Marionette was the name under which Agatsuma Entertainment eventually released it in Japan. The user builds their playable characters, stage elements, and accessories in the game by sketching them with the DS’s stylus and touch screen. WayForward Technologies converted the game to iOS, and 505 Games published it on May 22, 2014. In Drawn to Life, the player must design a hero to save a cursed community from advancing darkness. It has several platforming stages, a top-down center village, and various items like cars, weapons, and platforms that the user may sketch or color with the stylus. Two sequels, Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter, have been released for the Wii and DS. Altron created a spin-off title for the DS, Drawn to Life: SpongeBob SquarePants Edition (based on the SpongeBob SquarePants episode “Frankendoodle”).
