The game has a 120-card “Warrior Cards” system. The cards are used in combat to summon warriors from the Dynasty Warriors series to help the player. The participants can create their decks. However, a player may only equip as many cards as there are defensive points, ration stores, and weapon stores on the map. Blue, red, yellow, green, and pink (rare) are the colors used to classify cards. Blue cards grant the player a talent to utilize in battle, but red cards improve the player’s attack rating, defensive rating, or health points (HP). Yellow cards grant both skill and stat boosts. Blue and red cards can be leveled up to three stars. However, yellow cards have set stats.
Players can go to a neighboring point or inside buildings housing the enemy general guarding the requisite number of defeated officers (indicated in the top-right corner) on that map. However, travel in and out of the point is allowed if the point contains a defensive point, rations store, or weapons store held by the player. At the war’s outset, ration supplies and weapon stores are ‘neutral’ and can be taken by any faction. Obtaining possession of a provisions shop and a weapon store expands and boosts the size of the owner’s army, respectively. When a shop is claimed, an allied warrior from the deck is called to guard it, which the opponent can still take over. This game also includes terrains with effects. Poisonous puddles, for example, diminish the HP of whoever treads on them; freezing ground causes slipping; rocking ships hinder regular movement; and so on. The game is won when one of the two players breaks through the opponent’s defensive points and defeats the opposing warrior in the main base, which only opens up when the opponent loses all defense points. The player’s characters uttermost of the voice samples in this game, and the generals speak, and they all have distinct wording for pre-fight and post-fight confrontations.
