Hotel Transylvania

Hotel Transylvania, based on the 2012 Sony Pictures Animation film, casts players as Mavis (Count Dracula’s teen daughter), who must embark on a quest to save her new friend Johnny from the evil master chef Quasimodo (who plans to make him the soup de jour for Mavis’ 118th birthday party). The gameplay for both the DS and 3DS versions is a simple side-scrolling platformer in which players must navigate Mavis around the hotel while killing a slew of enemies along the way. Mavis can also speak with many personalities within the hotel to complete various quests to locate Johnny. Mavis’ mobility is controlled via the control pad (and Circle Pad for 3DS), with B allowing her to leap and A allowing her to stroll. The A button is also utilized to interact with the hotel’s many people and things. As the game advances, Mavis will ultimately learn special techniques (such as the Trance Stare, which stops opponents in their tracks), allowing her to travel further. Both versions have an Extras menu with 10 additional levels and various concept artworks from the film that may be unlocked during the game.
