LEGO Legends of Chima: Laval’s Journey

The plot opens with a jousting competition to choose which tribe will hold the Golden Chi orb. In the final round, Laval faces Cragger, who wins the battle with an extended lance. Cragger’s habit of “cheating his way to victory” irritates Laval. A brilliant light is visible at the summit of adjacent Spiral Mountain shortly after the tournament ends. Laval climbs the mountain and, at the summit, discovers Cragger with a contraption containing both the Golden Chi orb and a slew of regular Chi orbs that, if triggered, threaten to overflow and destroy Chi’s equilibrium. Laval battles and defeats Cragger but cannot prevent the machine from activating. Cragger claims that with the Chi out of balance, he will soon have “triple Chi power” and will be able to flee. Laval returns to his father, but they learn that the eagle and gorilla tribes are being attacked. Laval enters each tribe’s land to fight off the aggressors (the wolf and raven tribes, respectively) and rescue the captured (including his allies Eris and Gorzan). Still, the aggressor tribe always escapes with a piece of the famous Triple-Chi Armour. Cragger then organizes an attack on the Lion Temple, finally capturing Lagravis to obtain the final component of the armor. Laval gathers his pals, including Worriz, who wants to get revenge on Cragger for allegedly abandoning the wolf clan by retaining the power of the triple Chi armor for himself. They visit Rhino country to learn more about the armor and fight Cragger again, which leads them to Crocodile territory. Cragger breaks Crooler’s grip and joins the others in fighting his sister and rescuing Lagravis. Worriz purchases the entire armor after discovering that its power may be unlocked at the summit of Spiral Mountain. The crew climbs Spiral Mountain under heavy wolf tribal protection and ultimately finds Worriz at the summit, unable to control himself (due to the armor’s force and the full moon). Laval and his allies overcome Cragger, and Eris retells the tale of the armor, which states that its power must be employed when the Chi is out of balance to return the land to normal. Laval recognizes he is partly at fault; Cragger created the trap, but Laval went right into it. Lagravis dons the armor and uses its power to restore the balance of the Chi and repair the damage done to the earth, impressed that his son has begun to see his limits. Crooler, unfortunately, comes and reinfects Cragger with her persuader plant. They flee, but Lagravis is pleased that the Chi balance has been restored, stating that the lion tribe will continue to guard it.
