Acquire the skill of a magician. Several other basketball video games are available, but none offer the hands-on control that Mario Hoops 3-on-3 does. Players put their skills to the test by performing complex dribbles, spectacular passes, and perfect shots, all with strokes and touches of the stylus on the touch screen to control their actions. After selecting three characters from the Mario universe to comprise their teams, players take to the court. As players go for coins, picking up power-ups like Red Shells and Bob-bombs may swing the game’s balance in their favor. Because these items impact the score, players must gather as many of them as possible before reaching the goal. There is a mode available for everyone, whether they want to compete against their friends via a local wifi connection, work their way through a tournament, or simply play minigames.
