Need for Speed: Nitro

The long-running racing video game brand Need for Speed has reached its fourteenth iteration with the release of the game titled Need for Speed: Nitro. Electronic Arts is the company that made it available for purchase on the Wii and Nintendo DS platforms. To this point, it is also the only game in the franchise that has not been developed on the personal computer platform. It was one of three games announced in January, the other two being Need for Speed: Shift and Need for Speed: World. The announcement took place in January. Although EA Montreal, responsible for the game’s development, had experience working on Nintendo properties, the Florida studio of Firebrand Games produced the DS version independently. In November of 2010, the DSiWare version of the game Need for Speed: Nitro-X received an update that made it superior to the DS edition.
