King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie is an action-adventure computer game based on the 2005 film King Kong. It was developed in partnership between the film’s director, Peter Jackson, and video game creator Michel Ancel. Players can take on Jack Driscoll’s and King Kong’s roles in the game. The levels of the King Kong portion are played in the third person, whereas Driscoll’s levels are played in the first person. De-emphasizes using a heads-up display, which the developer believed may help players immerse themselves more in the game. On November 21, 2005, it was released on PC and sixth generation platforms, as well as a Nintendo DS version, while on November 22, 2005, it was released as a launch title on the Xbox 360, as well as a Game Boy Advance version titled Kong: The 8th Wonder of the World, and a PlayStation Portable version was released on December 20, 2005. Every member of the film’s cast reprises their roles. When it was released, the game mainly garnered good reviews, with critics complimenting its immersive surroundings. On the other hand, the DS version was panned owing to issues in these versions.
