Natural calamities have occurred in the Pokémon universe! And if that wasn’t enough of a problem, you awoke one day to find yourself inexplicably changed into a Pokémon! After teaming up with another Pokémon, you establish a rescue squad and aid other Pokémon who are in distress. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team is a Pokémon-themed variation of the Fushigi no Dungeon, or Mystery Dungeon, game series. The primary idea behind these games is that you must journey through a succession of randomly created dungeons, defeating opponents and collecting stuff as you progress deeper into the dungeon until you reach a specific floor. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon incorporates elements from the Pokémon Universe into the Mystery Dungeon series. You may level up your characters, have additional Pokémon join your party (up to a maximum of six characters), level up, evolve, and learn new attacks and skills. You do not have direct control over the other members of your team; AI handles them, although you may issue them directions such as “follow me,” “avoid first attack,” and “attack enemies.” Another objective of the game is to recruit all of the different varieties of Pokémon as members of your rescue squad. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon can communicate with other Blue and Red Rescue Team copies. You can rescue a buddy stranded while on their rescue operation or exchange things with them instead.
