This game offers online play through the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and official licenses for use in the game. In addition, a new mode called World Tour gives the Master League mode from the previous games a fresh twist. When you play this mode, you take control of a generic squad that must compete against teams from each nation represented in the game to emerge triumphant. If you win silver and gold medals, a gumball machine with a touch screen may let you buy international football players. These medals can be used to purchase players.
