The Simpsons Game

When Bart discovers a mystery game handbook, he realizes that he and his family have become the stars of the newest blockbuster video game, The Simpsons Game! In this side-scroller action game, you may play as any of the Simpsons, each with unique special skills. Homer can morph into a giant blob and roll through stages. Bart may transform into Bartman by donning a cowl and cape and utilizing his slingshot and gliding skills to defeat the game’s thugs. Lisa can solve riddles and eliminate impediments with an all-touchscreen Hand of Buddha, while Marge can manipulate mobs to overpower anybody who gets in her way. Each of the game’s twelve episodes spoofs a piece of valuable popular culture, including spoofs of iconic videogames like Frogger, Space Invaders, Pokémon, and Madden. The game is jam-packed with videos and voiceovers created by the show’s creators and featuring the original actors. The game’s irreverent comedy includes many allusions for Simpsons fans, who will catch all the inside jokes from earlier episodes thanks to the voices, plot, and cutscenes. “Pet Homer,” a virtual pet game in which the player gathers various objects to feed Homer (and watch the wacky consequences), is exclusive to the DS game, as are other multiplayer minigames.
