Tomb Raider: Legend on the Nintendo DS is unlike its console counterparts. The storyline and cutscenes have been retained, but the platforming action and environmental puzzles have been redone into a side-scrolling format with some 3D aspects. There are also motorbike levels on occasion. The upper screen primarily displays the action, while the bottom screen contains inventory that may be controlled with the stylus. When you get close to an enemy, the bottom screen turns to a first-person view, and you must rapidly fire them by tapping them with the stylus. The gameplay, like in the previous editions, centers on discovering a variety of relics in unusual locations. It would help if you blew on the DS microphone to dust them off in this situation. While Lara travels in two dimensions, for the most part, the visuals are 3D, and the settings are frequently viewed from angles other than the conventional straight-on.
