Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem is a 2002 Nintendo Gamecube psychological horror action adventure. It covers the lives of twelve characters who have to cope with ancient powers of evil attempting to manifest themselves on our planet over two millennia. Ancient Rome, Persia, the Middle East, and modern-day Rhode Island are all included in the chapters. The heroes will have access to various weaponry suited for their era throughout the game, ranging from a bastard sword and gladius to a flintlock handgun and shotgun. The game includes a complex Magic system that allows multiple spells to be generated by combining runes. These spells can attack foes, dispel illusions, and heal both the body and objects. Sanity is a unique feature in Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem. When an adversary notices a character, their Sanity meter decreases. When the character’s sanity is poor, hallucinations begin to torment him. Walls bleed, voices appear out of nowhere, and the camera becomes bewildered. Sanity can be regained by performing a finishing move on a deceased enemy and using spells or specific items.
