Based on the Nickelodeon movie of the same name, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius is also a video game for the Nintendo GameCube, PC, PlayStation 2, and Game Boy Advance. It was inspired by the 2001 CGI film of the same name. It was released alongside Rocket Power: Extreme Arcade Games as part of a two-game bundle. The game was supposed to come out on Xbox, but it never did. This 3D action-adventure features Jimmy Neutron and Goddard, his robotic dog. King Goobot, the game’s main antagonist, has kidnapped some of Jimmy’s friends, so he must go on an intergalactic rescue mission to get them back. Players will explore environments taken directly from the film and use various tools to solve puzzles. In addition to minigames set in an amusement park, there are hidden movie clips, Rugrats and SpongeBob trailers, character biographies, and movie trailers to unlock. The game is played from a traditional third-person perspective and features five distinct areas linked via a central hub.
A portal will appear once a region is chosen, and players can enter a 3D environment. Players can travel to Jimmy’s House, the surface of an asteroid, the interior of an asteroid, Yolkus Prime, and Retroland Amusement Park. You’ll progress through multiple levels at each stop in search of a shrunken head and other rewards. Finding Carl Wheezer, Cindy Vortex, Rose, Nissa, and Zachary can be a secondary goal in specific contexts. Jimmy faces enemies, from giant ants to blobby Yokians, with villains like Ooblar, Poultra, and King Goobot as bosses. The game allows players to run, jump, kick, and use their inventions. Every time you collect 10 neutrons, you get an extra life, and you can use special weapons like the Shrink Ray, Inflato Ray, and Jimmy Bat to heal yourself. The Goddard Pogo, Goddard Sled, and Goddard Scooter can be used to get around the levels. Access to movie clips, shorts, and trailers is available on the game’s CD, and Nick Cannon host the feature.
