The cover of NCAA Football 2003, released for the PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, and Xbox, features University of Oregon quarterback Joey Harrington. Over 200 licensed battle tunes, 3D cheerleaders, and 144 different schools were added to this version. The ability to redshirt a player and schedule non-conference games before each season was added to Dynasty mode. Another new element in this version was trophies and prizes patterned after real-life collegiate football accolades. Players can win awards by playing games and adding them to their collection, displayed in a trophy room. The Heisman Trophy, Coach of the Year, and Bowl-specific prizes are among these honors. The game had 23 unique rivalry trophies designed to mimic their real-life equivalents. After being absent the previous year, the game’s Create-A-School option reappeared in this version. For the first time, the game also included a customizable UI. A player may select their favorite team, and the game interface would be based on the team’s fight song, mascot, emblems, and school colors.
