After Need for Speed: Underground, Need for Speed Underground takes place in Bayview. The prologue begins in Olympic City in a Nissan Skyline R34, but the racing occurs in Bayview, the main game’s setting. Then, a menacing character challenges him to a race and offers him a spot on his crew, “won’t take ‘no’ for an answer.” He accepted. Despite Samantha’s warnings, the player is ambushed by an unknown driver who destroys his Skyline. After confirming the accident over the phone, the flashback ends.
