The Virtua Striker ( in Japanese) video games are sports from Sega that are played in an arcade and modeled after football or soccer. Initially conceived by Sega AM2, the Virtua Striker franchise was transferred to Amusement Vision with the release of Virtua Striker 3. But with the release of Virtua Striker 4, the series relocated again, this time to the Sega AM2 platform. It was the first association football video game to employ 3D computer graphics when it was launched in 1994. It was also renowned for its early use of texture mapping, along with Sega’s racing video game, Daytona USA. The original Virtua Striker was also notable for its early use of texture mapping.
