Air Ranger 2: Rescue Helicopter

Air Ranger Rescue is a single-player helicopter rescue game in which the player controls a rescue helicopter. You can fly three helicopters in this game: the MBB/Kawasaki BK-117-B, the Boeing CH-47J “Chinook,” and the Hughes/Kawasaki OH-6D. The game consists of eight timed missions, each with three levels of difficulty, as well as a ‘Free Flight’ mode in the training section. The first missions are flown in the small OH-6D, followed by tasks two and above, with the other craft locked off until the primary assignments are completed. Projects are scored using a point system; victims must be rescued while still in good health, so points are deducted if they are not picked up promptly; and, of course, points are deducted if the helicopter collides with a building or a victim dies. The training section takes the form of a manual and explains the game’s controls but also the mechanics of the helicopter, as well as video clips.
