In the end, you will protect your country and the planet itself from an oncoming assault while flying with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Element squadrons. Fly aircraft that span sixty years of aviation history, including prop planes from WWII, jets from the Korean War, rare prototypes, and even aircraft from earlier Konami games like the Vic Viper and TwinBee. You can explore the base and talk to other wing members, purchase new airplanes and unique weaponry, modify or repaint current aircraft, and receive mission briefings during downtime between operations. The goals of a mission might vary, but if an enemy aircraft is destroyed, the player will be rewarded with money that can be used to purchase, customize, and maintain aircraft. Even though Ken Thomas is the game’s main character, other pilots can be utilized in missions as the game develops. Using these other pilots can change the story and open up extra tasks. The plot is narrated from the point of view of both the E.D.A.F.’s Delta Squadron and their O.C.C. Ace counterparts. However, the player can only play as pilots from Delta Squadron itself in the game. Each pilot receives a medal when they hit a new milestone, such as the number of enemy aces they have taken down or the number of aircraft they purchased.
