Arc the Lad: End of Darkness

SCE takes the Arc the Lad series in a new direction by transforming it into an action-adventure video game that can be played online. Players take on the role of a hunter tasked with traversing the world and completing missions, most of which involve eliminating foes in real-time by employing magic and unique abilities. Throughout an RPG-style narrative, you can win cards in combat and other events, then equip those cards to advance your character’s abilities. The action is seen from above, with the camera zooming in and out according to the intensity of the activity and moving to other views every so often for dramatic effect. You engage in real-time combat with the adversaries, tapping X once for a direct attack and multiple times for a combo. In addition, you can defend yourself from an attack, dash at an opponent, and push a button to move about the playing area more quickly. The usage of magic is given a significant amount of importance in this game; after each spell, the magic meter recovers itself automatically and quite rapidly.
