Combat Queen

Giant insects have mysteriously invaded Japan! These flying monstrosities turned Tokyo into a ghost town in less than 24 hours. The only hope for humanity is a group of five beautiful-yet-deadly female android soldiers. Before the Earth is completely overrun, they must find and destroy the source of these creatures. Combat Queen is a rail shooter in the style of Digital Pictures. Each stage is divided into several shooting galleries in which players destroy approaching insects against a video backdrop. Short scenes of the characters interacting connect them and advance the plot. Certain sections also feature third-person walking and shooting in the style of Resident Evil. In both modes, the player must watch their energy level, which powers the characters’ shields and weapons. Energy can be freely transferred between them, but enemies deplete the red bar, and firing the gun depletes the blue. The player cannot fire if the blue bar is empty; if the red bar is open, the stage is lost and must be restarted. The number of enemies destroyed in each step determines the number of stage bonus videos and energy refills earned.
