This is the first game developed by HB Studios, yet it is part of Electronic Arts annual cricket franchise, which began with Cricket 96. Nonetheless, this is just another installment in the series. The player can compete in both one-day games and test matches because all ten international teams and twenty-two international stadiums are present. As the player advances through the campaign, there are more tournaments and historical teams that may be unlocked to prolong the length of the gameplay experience. Additional features include comprehensive controls that, for example, let the player act as a bowler and spin, seam, or vary the pace of the ball. Other features include a multiplayer mode. Richie Benaud provides commentary during the game.
