Dragon’s Lair 3D: Special Edition

Dirk the Daring, a silly but brave knight, is on a quest to save the lovely princess Daphne. The evil dragon Singe kidnaps the princess and imprisons her in a medieval castle owned by an even more evil wizard named Mordroc. If Dirk wants to save the princess and his skin, he must use his courage and quick reflexes to overcome the traps in the castle. Dragon’s Lair 3D: Special Edition is a reimagining of the 1983 arcade game: gameplay-wise, it deviates significantly from it, being a full-fledged action platformer with unrestricted character movement. Dirk must fight enemies, jump over platforms and hazards, and solve a few puzzles. Throughout the game, health and mana points can be upgraded. Dirk can also use a crossbow to fight enemies and solve puzzles. Collecting Dragon Essences scattered throughout the castle bestows him with new abilities. The game retains the original version’s cartoon-like style (created using the cel-shaded technique) and many familiar locations and boss enemies.
