Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends

Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends is set in KOEI’s popular Romance of the Three Kingdoms world, with players taking on the role of one of seven generals attempting to unite the land under one banner. Unlike the previous game, which restricted players to the Free mode when playing as characters such as Lu Bu, this latest iteration gives each of the seven previously unaligned characters a new scenario (or “Musou”). These scenarios occur across remixed stages from the original Dynasty Warriors, giving players new objectives, scenery, and cutscenes. As a bonus, players can import all of their achievements from Dynasty Warriors 3 into this game for a more immersive experience. Players can also customize their bodyguards to their liking. Bodyguards can be given names, weapons, and items, and their genders and uniforms are customized to their liking. Other new features include a slew of new weapons and items, a fifth weapon for each officer, new difficulty levels, and a “Arrange” mode that allows players to rearrange the characters in the game’s opening movie. There are also four new Challenge modes: Balancing Act, Speed Demon, Combo Mania, and Iron Man. The first has players battling atop a bridge to knock as many enemy waves off the bridge as possible before falling. Speed Demon is a footrace across an entire level that requires both players to navigate hazards and fight off enemies. Combo Mania is a gratuitous display of force in which players beat up on unsuspecting hordes in search of combo points. Finally, Iron Man is simply the culmination of all three events.
