The player assumes control of Mouse, an unvoiced musician who travels around the world alongside his talking guitar Pattimo. One day, Mouse receives an invitation to perform at a royal wedding that will take place on the island of Pandule. But soon after, he finds out that the groom, Xelpherpolis, has cast a terrible spell on the island that causes time to loop, to destroy the entire population in this manner. The mouse must halt the evildoer and, more crucially, enlist the assistance of others to break the spell successfully. Ephemeral Fantasia is a role-playing game in the Japanese style and features turn-based combat. The party can be expanded to include several other playable characters. The time-looping system, which operates in a manner that is strikingly reminiscent of that seen in The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, is the most notable aspect of this video game. The game has its internal clock, and until Mouse discovers a method to stop it, the first five days of the game will keep repeating itself. The mouse must be in a particular area at a specific moment for certain events to occur.
