On Nemo’s first day of school, he disobeys his father and swims away from the reef to touch the bottom of a boat, despite his father’s strict warnings. This causes Marlin to become enraged, which leads to a dispute in front of Nemo’s classmates. Nemo is taken captive by a scuba diver, much to the horror of Nemo’s father. Marlin tries to save Nemo, but the camera flash from another diver causes him to lose his vision. The boat can no longer be seen in the far distance.
