The Japanese survival horror video game Siren takes place in a sleepy little hamlet where the majority of the inhabitants have been slaughtered.
A siren sounds in the distance, turning the residents of the Japanese town of Hanuda into shibito, who are zombies intent on turning everyone else into shibito as well.
The player takes control of one of ten distinct characters throughout the game as they attempt to evade the shibito. It’s like a puzzle. Because of their extremely low maximum health, all of the characters require the player to become familiar with the shibitos’ routines and discover ways to avoid being spotted. In addition, the player has the ability to sight jack other characters, including Shibito, in order to experience the world from their perspective.
