The practice of parkour, often known as the “art of movement,” is not so much a sport as it is a way of life. Participants in this activity are referred to as Free Runners or Traceurs, and they have the mindset that the environment and all of its barriers, whether they are urban or natural, are a series of trials to be conquered. Parkour has a philosophical allure for the Traceurs; after participating, they emerge from their time spent there feeling freed from the tedium of daily life in the city. Since its inception in Paris around the middle of the 1980s, it has expanded over the world and today has an international army of proponents and admirers. It all started in France. When you play Free Running, the concrete jungle transforms into an urban playground for you to play in as you run, vault, jump, and climb your way over various obstacles in the most fluid and flowing way imaginable. Perform jumps that defy gravity and excursions across inner-city rooftops that will leave your audience in awe as you put the limits of human ability to the test. In order to earn the title of King of Parkour, you will need to demonstrate mastery of more than 50 different moves, tricks, and stunts across a variety of game modes, including “Kong Vaults,” “Pharaoh Climbs,” “Rail Split Vaults,” and “Vertical Wall Runs,” while competing against either human or computer-controlled opponents.
