Gallop Racer 2006

The latest installment in the Gallop Racer series, Gallop Racer 2006, features the series’ two standard game modes—Exhibition and Career—and several new game modes. These new game modes include Memorial Quest, in which players can compete in more than one hundred classic horse races from years gone by, and Field of Legend, in which players can pit the horses they’ve created in the game against actual horses that have competed in horse races in the past. The entirety of this action took place at a venue modeled as a theme park and referred to as Gallop Racing Square. Players are not only able to tame and train their horses, but they also have the opportunity to compete against tremendous and historical horses from earlier eras in horse racing. The gameplay is almost identical to earlier versions, consisting of pressing buttons at a specific time to encourage the horse while it is racing. There are also several gauges to keep track of, including the horse’s stamina, position in the race, and mental condition. Bets can also be placed on horse races, and the game accurately simulates the betting experience by considering factors such as the state of the horses, the track conditions, and the weather.
