Once upon a time, a conflict broke out on a continent that was isolated on an island. People who wanted the fighting to stop brought out an ancient and powerful weapon known as the “Admonisher” and threatened those who were taking part in the conflict by using it. As a result, all of the wars were resolved through the use of force. The group that was responsible for this activity referred to themselves as the “Peace Maintenance Brigade.” After a period of 20 years, the senior members of the Brigade are no longer able to keep the peace.
Now, the people who live on the continent are engaged in yet another war that has sprung out. There has been an unexplained outbreak of famine, forcing the people to compete for the small amount of arable land that is still available. At the same time, violent amphibious monsters known as “Screapers” are continually attacking the cities.
The combat unfolds in real-time, and there is no switching to a separate battle map throughout the course of a fight (which is usually found in traditional Japanese RPGs). As a consequence of this, players are required to think up plans and tactics on the spot, according to what the current circumstance requires.
