Agent 47, the perfect assassin, tries to disassociate himself from his murderous background by becoming a lowly church gardener. However, when his companion, a priest, is abducted by an Italian mafioso, he is duped into going back to his trade. A third-person stealth game, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin is played from the perspective of the assassin. You play the role of the titular hitman and are tasked with completing a variety of assignments located all over the world. In most cases, you will be tasked with eliminating a target and potentially achieving a few other goals during the course of each mission.
In most cases, your target will be guarded by a large number of security personnel. Although you have access to a huge array of weaponry, including covert weapons such as a garrote or a silenced handgun, as well as more powerful firearms such as machine guns and sniper rifles, your primary method of attack will be to remain unseen. Agent 47 is able to move stealthily to avoid being seen, and he can disguise himself by donning the clothing of guards who have been slain or paralyzed.
However, the security personnel are not completely dimwitted since they will check any odd noises and will react if they see you waving a gun around in front of your face. If they observe you moving around, they will become suspicious. If they discover a dead body, they will raise the alarm. If you hang out in a disguise around them for an excessive amount of time, they will soon understand that you are not one of their friends.
Hitman 2: Silent Assassin introduces a new feature to the series: after finishing a mission, you are awarded a rating that is determined by how stealthily you carried out the objective. Only the most patient and skilled players will be able to receive the “Silent Assassin” rating, which generally involves eliminating the target stealthily without raising any suspicion. Being called a “Mass Murderer” will result from going trigger-happy on everyone, while being called a “Silent Assassin” will only be achieved by the most patient and skilled players.
