Following their successful mission to protect Haven City once more, Jak and Daxter realize that they have been poisoned and are now required to compete against one another on the worldwide car-racing circuit in order to carry out Krew’s wishes.
Players will compete in races using over a dozen different vehicles, each of which can be customized and constructed with its own set of distinct handling characteristics. The races will take place across a total of twenty different tracks spread throughout eight distinct terrain areas. The fact that there is a wide variety of power-ups to choose from, such as mines, ranged weapons, projectile weapons, shields, turbo boosts, and smart bombs, should provide players with the means necessary to guarantee that they are the first ones to cross the finish line.
The game featured both local and multiplayer play over the internet. The most common kind of multiplayer for two people to play together is called offline split-screen. There was support for up to five players simultaneously in the game’s online multiplayer mode. Both modes included the same game types, which are identical to those found in the single-player version with the exception that human players instead of the computer AI take control of the action. The game’s online servers are no longer available for use at this time.
