Our floppy-eared hero, Klonoa, along with his two recently discovered friends, Lolo and Popka, have to counter a malicious force that is causing a mire of darkness to infect the realm of Lunatea. They will do this with the help of Popka and Lolo. Klonoa can restore peace to the world if she rings all four bells that are scattered over it; however, the Sky Pirate Leorina is close on her trail, searching for Klonoa’s enchanted ring…
The 3D platformer Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil is played from a side-scrolling perspective. The primary objective of the game is to complete each stage, commonly known as a “Vision,” however in addition to that, there are additional objectives that must be met. To begin, there are six Momett Dolls tucked away in each of the levels of each Vision. Second, there are items called Dream Stones that may be found strewn about each level. The green ones are for one point, while the blue ones are worth five. In some of the riddles, there is also a challenging use of something called the “Dream Spirit,” which increases the worth of all of the Dream Stones that have been collected. Hoverboard sections are brand new to Klonoa 2, and they feature a more fast-paced and action-oriented gameplay style.
However, what sets Klonoa apart from other beings is his powers. Klonoa has the ability to fire a ‘wind bullet’ at her enemies, which causes them to become puffed up and gives her the ability to carry them. After that, Klonoa can either jump with them, giving him an additional boost, or launch them directly at his opponents. If he holds the leap button down for an extended period of time, not only will his jump be longer, but he will also be able to hover for a bit longer. There are a variety of foes, each with its own unique abilities and effects. For instance, some foes have propellers attached to their heads, which will launch you into the air, while others behave like time bombs and detonate after a certain period of time.
