Makai Kingdom: Chronicles of the Sacred Tome

Makai Kingdom is the fourth tactical RPG developed by Nippon Ichi for the PlayStation 2. It follows in the footsteps of the previous games in the same genre, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, La Pucelle: Tactics, and Phantom Brave. Lord Zetta, the king of Netherworld, attempted but failed to rewrite the history of the land, bringing doom upon himself. Three evil Overlords appeared before Zetta and promised to aid him in his quest to reclaim control of the land. The player takes command of Zetta and his army to reclaim Netherworld for its rightful owner. The game mechanics are divided into several stages in which the player must defeat the enemy or complete other tasks to progress to the next level. Fighting takes place in turns, which means that after the player has moved and attacked, it is the enemy’s turn to move his troops one by one. When the battle is won, the next level becomes available for selection. Between battles, you can improve your fighter squad by purchasing better weapons, recruiting more soldiers, etc.
