Metal Slug 6

Atomisware arcade hardware was the initial platform for the game’s release. It is the first main installment in the series that does not run on the Neo Geo MVS arcade hardware produced by SNK. This entry in the series marks both a new beginning and a coming full circle for the franchise. Metal Slug 4, which focused on technological and cybernetic topics, and Metal Slug 5, which featured a paranormal motif, have both been superseded by Metal Slug 6, which brings back the Rebel-Martian alliance that was present in Metal Slugs 2, X, and 3, but on a much larger scale. The events of the previous games, in which the Martians broke the alliance and the Rebels helped the player, do not repeat themselves in this game. Instead, the player joins forces with the Martians and the Rebels to fight an even more dangerous foe.
