An update from the previous year, the obligatory roster update, and new features. The exhibition, Franchise, The Show, and Road to the Show are still available. A new Pitcher/Batter Analysis feature allows players to compare performance against specific pitchers during and after the game. In addition, a Progressive Batting Performance feature will either penalize or reward their player-created superstars based on their performance during games. Players can also save games in the middle of them, allowing them to resume later if desired. There are also online features unique to each platform: The PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2 versions allow players to compete in Online Leagues with up to 30 teams and save their preferences using the SCOUT (SportsConnect Online User Tracking) system for easy reference when setting up Exhibition matches. All three platforms also allow players to view real-time MLB stats and save them to their memory for later viewing. The PS3 can also use its HDD capabilities to play music stored during matches. The PSP can also do this using a Memory Stick Duo with music stored on it. The PS2 can also use EyeToy to create new superstars. The three-person team of Rex Huddler, Matt Vasgerian, and Dave Campbell calls games once more.
