Mobile Light Force 2 is a repackaging of the Japanese first-person shooter Shikigami no Shiro that was developed by Alfa System and published in Japan. Despite the fact that it is billed as a successor to a PSOne game with the same name, that game was actually a localization of Gunbird. The plot of the game’s original inspiration is entirely rewritten, and instead of taking place in the United States, it takes place in Tokyo, where the MLF squad must defend the city from waves of invading demons. Along the way, one or two players can work together to engage in simultaneous blasting with six distinct characters over four distinct stages of top-down shooting action. The Japanese localization of the game, on the other hand, makes use of whole new plot devices, incorporates cutscenes that serve as transitions between different levels, and provides the option to expand the area that is visible to the player.
