Namco Museum (????????? Namuko Myujiamu?) is the name of a series of video game compilations that Namco published for various consoles that were released in the 5th generation and above. These compilations featured releases of Namco’s games (mostly arcade games) from the 1980s and the early 1990s. Except for re-releases of previously released compilations, Namco did not start putting out new readers with the “Namco Museum” title until 1995, when they began doing so. They continued to do so for the next decade and a half until their final release in 2010. The first installment of the series was released for the PlayStation under the working title Namco Museum Volume 1, which indicated Namco’s intention to create additional parts for the series. The series continued on the PlayStation until it reached Volume 5, during which time it covered a variety of games from the late 1980s. After that, it moved on to the Nintendo 64, as well as all of the major consoles of the sixth and seventh generations and the Windows PC.
