The Need for Speed franchise is back, and rather than focusing on providing a realistic racing experience, this entry will instead provide players with an arcade-style “chase” mode. The objective of the game is to race at the highest possible speed while evading not only the other drivers but also the law enforcement officers.
Choose from a variety of the best sports cars available both now and in the past, such as the Ferrari F50 and the Porsche 911, as well as models from manufacturers such as Ford, Corvette, BMW, Lotus, Mercedes, Aston Martin, the McLaren F1, and a great many others.
The competitive race mode gives you the opportunity to compete against other drivers and win the race by crossing the finish line first. You can choose from a variety of routes that give you the opportunity to not only avoid oncoming traffic but also do dangerous jumps and stunts in order to get points. When added to the points you earn based on your finishing position, these points provide you the ability to unlock new cars and tracks.
The Hot Pursuit mode incorporates all of the most important aspects of the competitive mode as well as the opportunity to elude the authorities. They will try everything in their power to stop you, including forcing you off the road, erecting roadblocks, and releasing an assault chopper armed with missiles. They will not give up until they have succeeded. The race is over when the police make three arrests.
