The events of Nobunaga’s Ambition take place in feudal Japan during a time known as the Sengoku period. The player’s mission is to achieve the ultimate goal of warlord Oda Nobunaga, which is the conquest and unification of Japan. This objective is hinted at in the game’s title. However, selecting Oda Nobunaga is not required because the player can choose from many other daimyos from other regions throughout that period. This game was the first to include castle towns and integrated sieges of many castles. The administrative displays have been entirely converted to 3D.
