NYR: New York Race

New York Race is a racing game set in the future. The game is based on Luc Besson’s film “Fifth Element.” There are over 30 high-tech flying machines to choose from and pilots (including the notorious Taxi and the cool police car). In NYR, four different modes are available, the main one being the Championship mode, which is divided into four categories: Qualification, Beginner, Pro, and Expert. Other methods include Single Race, Time Attack, and the relatively calm Keirin mode, eliminating the last man standing at each checkpoint until only one remains. In each race, you can collect four elements that will give you an advantage: Water – when hit, leaves a liquid sphere behind you that slows your opponents down. Fire – lets you fire a homing fireball at your opponents. Earth provides a temporary shield, while Air increases your speed. 3D action gives the player complete freedom of movement on both the vertical and horizontal axes. The races occur on 12 tracks, which can be unlocked by progressing through the levels. Jet Set, Middle Class, Seedy District, and China Town are the four districts that the tracks are divided into.
