The Apache Longbow Assault helicopter simulator is the follow-up to the AH-64 Apache Air Assault simulator and is designed for the AH-64 Apache Longbow variant of the Apache helicopter. This game, like the one before it, is a hybrid between a simulation and an arcade, allowing players to get started immediately. The in-game cockpit, on the other hand, is used primarily as a reference frame rather than for the player to do complicated manipulations. There is only one game mode available: a linear campaign with roughly 30 different missions. They occur at various times of the day, in varying weather conditions, and over diverse terrain, including mountains, beaches, and seas. It involves head-to-head combat with other helicopters, as well as the assault of anti-aircraft batteries, ships, and ground vehicles, as well as defensive and rescue missions. While running out of ammo during the operation is possible, a loadout can be established before the beginning of the quest. Hydra rockets, Hellfire missiles, and an M230 gun are available weapons. Automatic targeting is a feature that can be enabled voluntarily. To aid with ground operations, there is a night vision view and the ability to throw flares.
