The third volume of the Psikyo Shooting Collection includes two shoot ’em ups that had not been made available on the PlayStation 2 before.

Sol Divide is a medieval fantasy-themed 2D side-scrolling shooter that sets one or two players against a horde of flying foes. Players can choose to play alone or cooperatively against the horde. You can play as one of three distinct characters, each of whom has a unique arsenal and approach to combat. When a player vanquishes an enemy, they may uncover a variety of magic scrolls. These scrolls allow the player to cast various spells, including fire and lightning.

The tale’s main character is a malevolent creature known as the Sol Divide, who wields a sword called the Sol Divide and travels the world in search of a Power Stone. You are tasked with defeating him after battling your way through several levels in both the Arcade Mode and the Original Mode (which contain different areas and require different tactics to beat, the Original Mode being designed as a more difficult experience for players who want to progress on to a higher challenge).

Psikyo introduced the arcade game Dragon Blaze in the year 2000. It is a shoot-em-up with a vertical scrolling screen. In 2004, it was adapted for PlayStation 2 and included in the compilation of Psikyo Shooting Collection Vol. 3:Sol Divide & Dragon Blaze. Later, 505 Games released the game in Europe exclusively for the PlayStation 2 (PS2) as a standalone product.

The gameplay of Dragon Blaze is very similar to that of many other common 2D shooters made by Psikyo. Each character has access to a normal shot, a charged shot, and a bomb. However, each of the four main characters (Quaid, Sonia, Ian, and Rob) also mounts a dragon, which can be dismounted and utilized as a weapon in its own right. The dragon that has been dismounted initially functions as a piercing weapon. Then it continues to shoot in a stationary position until the user calls it back with the same button. Additionally, it can be used to gather other things.
