R-Type Final is an updated version of the original arcade shooter that was released in 1987. Even though it has brand-new elements like the Force System and AI Mode, it still has aspects of the classic gameplay that made the series so popular in the first place. These features include: While engaging in combat with the malicious Bydo, power up your ship with the help of the Force System. You have access to more than one hundred different ships from which to choose and modify. You can fight head-to-head against the computer or your friend’s machines using the AI Mode, which allows you to save your ships on a memory card.
